Classes, Personal One-On-One and Yoga Therapy Sessions
“You cannot do yoga. Yoga is your natural state. What you can do are yoga exercises, which may reveal to you where you are resisting your natural state.” ~ Sharon Gannon
Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences that balance and teach us the interplay of body, mind and energy, and to live a life of longevity, rejuvenation and wholeness. Within the body is a subtle flow of rhythmic, energy pulsations, also known as prana, shakti, life force, or consciousness that yoga helps us balance and attune to.
Yoga is also a tool for good health, relaxation, self empowerment, self care and personal growth, through its ability to calm your mind, heal, strengthen, and stretch your body, and open your heart.
ChayaYoga™ 6 week Hatha series is the holistic application of Yoga and Ayurveda, utilizing the physical discipline of yoga postures, breathing, guided relaxation and meditation, with guidance that is specific for balance and the integration of body, mind and energy through synchronized breathing and postures, integrating body, mind and energy, exploring the flow of energy and tension release, moving without pain, gentle to moderate, with Ayurvedic applications, adaptive in nature, developing strength, alignment and flexibility, appropriate for all levels, including beginners.

Yoga Sutra Immersion Course
Patanjali is the author of the Yoga Sutras; which is the first written expose on Yoga Philosophy, and considered the authority and foundation of classical Yoga, as well as one of the six systems of philosophy of Ayurveda.
Patanjali defines Yoga psychology and practice as "the ability to direct the mind exclusively towards an object and sustain that direction without any distraction, in order to attain stability of mind and a healthy body ". He also explains how such a mind makes a person extraordinary in their potential and wisdom.
The Sutras are divided into 4 chapters, and we will study one chapter in detail per class, understanding the deeper meaning of these core teachings for you to integrate them into your practice and daily life.
These teachings were originally taught through chanting and we will use the methods of lecture, discussion, meditation and chanting to embody their deeper essence and applications.
Recommended text: The Heart Of Yoga, by, TKV Desikachar, includes translation and commentary of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
